Marbles

Shatterproof glass, protective and safe,
Surrounding the issues too painful to make
Any sense of, or know what to do,
Can anything break it and release me to you?

Shatterproof glass, protective and safe,
Stopping me reaching the place that is right,
Surrounding me tightly all around,
Will it ever be broken so peace can be found?

Shatterproof glass, what can release me from it?
Let me climb out of this dark lonely pit,
I'm waiting and asking 'What can I do?'
Please make it break so I can reach you.

Shatterproof glass, can I now see
A glimmer of hope coming towards me?
Thank you for coming and holding my hand
I knew dear friend that you would understand.

A Poet And An Engineer

I venture in words
and rhythms
through torrents, tranquil
waters, forests of livings
or wastelands, nimbly
you pile up digits
of symbols to weave
a coverlet between new
and old,
kaleidoscopic
and multiple
as such;

Artists of different sorts
grow on leafy boughs,
as if a world,
though on a same tree
shine in various shades,
vie towards a million ends.

Ladder Of Life

L ooking around, you see new things
   Something special and amazing
Once your eyes are set on it
You treasure it in your heart forever

I  f I could once more live my best memory
   I'd be over the moon
And if I don't get to I will treasure them
   In my heart and mind

F amily and friends are part of your life
   They are always there
   To support and help you

E very day is a chapter
   Life is like a book
It has a beginning, middle and end

Life is a ladder and it has to be climbed
Harder steps for harder days
Easier steps for happier days

Overall the ladder still has to be climbed.

Growing Up

A miracle is made even before you are born.
When two tiny seeds join together as one.
For nine months you grow in your mother's womb.
Then born into this world you'll find out soon
Whether you laugh, or cry. You'll always know.
Mum and Dad are around to help you grow.
To answer your questions and help you understand.
They are always around to lend a helping hand.
Even when they shout when you've been bad.
I know it upsets you and makes you sad.
But they mean well in all they do.
Deep in their hearts they really love you.
As you grow you learn something new every day.
So to my mum and dad I just want to say.
Thanks for your love and understanding too.
And with all my heart I really do love you.

Forward Poetry's ethos has always been to act as a bridge to publication rather than a barrier. This, along with our passion for poetry and creative writing, has seen a humble family business evolve into the biggest publisher of new poetry in the world. We understand that poetry is subjective, that everyone writes in a different style and that what one person can love, another can hate! Our collections showcase a variety of themes, writing styles and poets from all walks of life. They are carefully edited and compiled to celebrate and complement the craft that all of our contributors enjoy poetry.
