Meet Epitome Quirkstandard, an upper class English gentlemen who's a bit of a wet lettuce, though his heart is in the right place. Meet Simone Crepuslar, bearer of a girl's name, pamphlet-writer and shop owner, wearer of a loin cloth and accidental adventurer (he joined the army instead of a travelling circus -meaning his life was remarkably different from what he planned). Meet Simone's sons - Simon and Rodney and Epitome's aunt, Miss Penelope Penultimate, oh and Nigel Spiggot. Nigel is Epitome's best friend and he's a dog. The front cover design now makes sense!
Join this very odd lot on their personal adventures and histories that results in their paths crossing and therefore twists and turns in the story's ending. It's a fun read, will definitely impress you with the amount of adjectives and synonyms used and the even better than that, if you've ever seen (or heard) A F Harrold perform as a spoken word poet, you can read the story in your head with his voice narrating it. That, I'm sure, makes the read quite unique from any other.
This book is quirky, just like its author, and is definitely worth a look.
