After 8,000 entries to Poetry Rivals, the top 100 poets battled it out to win the prizes that were up for grabs! The event started with the judges performing their poems which blew the audience away!
A F Harold was extremely popular with the under 18s with his bizarre performances of a selection of his poetry, whilst Mark Grist summed Peterborough up perfectly by enlightening the audience with his poem 'Come To Peterborough'.
Under 18s winner Eleanor Hough took the audience on a journey into her heartfelt experience with her poem 'The Drinking Game', she was awarded a top of the range laptop. Over 18s winner Stephen Watt wowed the judges with his well constructed and moving poem 'Rubik', bagging him the publishing contract with Bonacia Ltd.
If you feel that your poetry should be heard then send in your best piece for consideration, what is the worst that can happen? You have just as much chance of being crowned Poetry Rivals 2011 Champion as anyone else!
This year will be even better with more prizes up for grabs, the over 18s winner can choose between a publishing contract or £1,000.
