This collection of poetry, prose, short stories and scripts is the result of a challenge set by Jo Bell (Director of National Poetry Day), called Bugged.
On July 1st, those in the writing community were asked to write in their own style a piece based on a snippet of conversation they overheard that day. Some writers were especially commissioned for the project, though the challenge was open to all.
The book is well edited, composed and presented. The content is fresh, interesting and the way each person has been inspired by what they've overheard and then put their twist on it is, to say the very least, entertaining. Bugged: Writings from Overhearings is a good read and a great way to introduce readers to various writing styles in one easy hit. It's also perfect for those of us who lead busy lives as you can easily pick up Bugged, read a poem and script in one sitting and pop back later for for something a bit different.
