Seamus Fox doesn't know why he writes and has little control over his words. Most of his page poetry is written quickly and edited sparingly, instead of detracting from his work, he finds it adds to his own inimitable style.
From about the age of eleven, he listened to early hip hop heavily and this culture had a profound influence on him right up until the mid-nineties, when he began reading the likes of Plath, Bukowski, Sexton and Carver amongst others. He now appears to be blending these distinct spheres of written and spoken word into his own unique and fluid style.
