Reg the ram was not great friends with anyone at all
He was always miserable and never had a ball
If he came upon someone whatever time of day
He butt them quickly up the bum until they went away
One day he met Billy Goat, and decided to attack
But Billy was a butter too and would not turn his back
Reg became a bit confused, they usually ran for cover
The two just stood there staring hard, and daring one another
Suddenly, explosively, both charged to start the battle
And crash, they hit their heads as one, with one almighty rattle
Both were shaken, both flat out, and when they were recharged
They started moving back again to try another charge
Now everyone had heard the noise and came outside to stare
And pretty soon the bets were flying almost everywhere
Harrys money went on Billy, Hectors went on Reg
While the sheep in Harrys flock looked on through the hedge
Clang, another crash of heads was heard by everyone around
And both the ram and goat went down, without another sound
All bets were off as both were out and no one seemed to win
But Douglas said lets wake them up and start it all again
They tried and tried to get the two to start another scuff
But both the goat and ram agreed they really had enough
Reg is more polite these days in case he meets his match
And only butts the ones he knows will be an easy catch
