Many years ago it was, when the world first heard of me
I was here before mankind, and long before the sea
I live where continents collide, and push me to the sky
I tower over all the earth, and never ever die
I am the biggest thing you’ll find, and none can take my place
I block invading armies, with my majestic face
I carve a pass which lets you through, made with sheets of ice
If you impose upon my side there has to be a price
Many tried to conquer me and many of them fail
I’ve allowed a few to live, so they can tell my tale
A tale of fear and respectful awe, which all must venerate
And then I might just let you have a myth to generate
So remember me when next you head out in the vast unknown
And take care to respect my wish, when walking through my stone
Maybe then, if you behave, don’t try to be too cleaver
For I am Mountain, tall and proud, standing still forever
